Koch, Ellen Ruth (Marriage - 21 June 1947)

Miss Ellen Ruth Koch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Koch of Stetsonville, and Julius A. Schulz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst W. Schulz of Colby, were united in marriage on Saturday, June 21, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church at Stetsonville, Rev. G. O. Krause reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by Arlene Schuette of Unity as maid of honor and Arlys Luick, cousin of the bride of Madison, and Sylvia Koch, cousin of the bride of Stetsonville, as bridesmaids, and Elaine Schulz, sister of the groom and Grace Schulz, sister of the [misprint in the paper omitted something and repeated part of a line] Stetsonville as bridesmaids and the groom was attended by his brother, Calvin Schulz as best man, and Frederick Luick, cousin of the bride of Madison, Donald Schulz, brother of the groom, and Caughn Waldhart of Stetsonville as groomsman.

The bride was attired in a gown of brocaded satin with net yoke and ruffled overskirt. Her full net skirt ended in a huge train edged with a ruffle. Her four-tiered finger tip veil was edged with wide lace and caught to a bonnet of lace and orange blossoms. Her arm bouquet consisted of calla lilies. The maid of honor wore a dress of white nylon dotted swiss, high neckline with Peter Pan collar, tiny row of buttons from neck to low bodice, double puffed sleeves and very full skirt. Her large picture hat was tied under her chin. Her bouquet consisted of garden flowers tied with a white ribbon. The bridesmaids all wore dresses of light blue nylon dotted swiss, identical to the maid of honor’s and white picture hats. Their bouquets were also identical to that of the maid of honor’s. Jane and Charmaine Koch, cousins of the bride, were the flower girls and wore white dotted swiss dresses identical to that of the maid of honor’s and carried small bouquets of mixed garden flowers tied with a blue ribbon. The bride’s mother wore a light blue dress with white accessories. Her corsage consisted of red roses with white carnations and lilies of the valley. The groom’s mother wore a gray dress with white accessories. Her corsage consisted of red roses, white carnations and lilies of the valley. The groom’s maternal grand mother wore a black dress and a corsage similar to the mothers.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents and a 5:00 supper was served at the church hall which was decorated with blue and white streamers, a large wedding cake and two large wedding bells in the center.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and will be at home in Colby after June 29th. The groom is employed at Behren’s tin shop at Dorchester, Wisconsin.

The bride is a graduate of Medford High School and had been employed at Hauser’s store in Stetsonville. The groom is a graduate of the Colby High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Mrs. Wm. C. Waldhart and son, Wallace, Mrs. Dorothy Brown and Harold Kademann attended the wedding of Ellen Koch and Bud Schultz Saturday at Zion Lutheran church at Stetsonville.
