Stock, Lois I. (Marriage - 10 Apr. 1947)

Lois I. Stock, 617 Jefferson St., Wausau, Wis., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stock, Abbostford, and Ray V. Anderson, 1102 Grand Ave., Wausau, Wis., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Anderson, Colby, Wis., will exchange marriage vows this Thursday afternoon, April 10, at 4:00 p.m., at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church, Colby, Wis., Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Nora Anderson, 612 Jefferson St., Wausau, sister of the groom, is maid of honor. Bridesmaids are Miss Joanne Tennis of Unity, cousin of the bride, and Miss Rita Kriplean of Colby, Wisconsin. The groom is attended by Milford Frome of Colby, cousin of the bride. Ushers are Joe Van Slett of Manitowoc, Wis., and Charles Brown of Colby, Wisconsin. Miss Lenore Berry of Wausau will sing two numbers, "I’ll Walk Beside You" and "God Made You Mine." She will be accompanied by Margaret Tesmer of Colby, Wisconsin. The wedding is a candlelight ceremony with two large bouquets of mixed flowers, all in pastel shades, on each side of the altar.

The bride’s gown is of white silk marquisette with lace inserts, sweetheart neckline, full puffed sleeves with lace inserts, white lace mitts, gathered bodice, full sweeping skirt and train with marquisette and lace inserts. Her Juliet cap consists of orange blossoms with fingertip veil-net with lace to match the dress. Her huge bouquet consists of calla lilies tied with white lace ribbon. A necklace, which her mother received on her wedding day, completed her attire. The necklace is 30 years old. Her ear rings are small, plain pearls. The bride’s going away suit is of black wool with pale pink accessories.

The maid of honor has a gown of pale yellow marquisette, off the shoulder effect, soft ruffling edged in white around the sleeves, full skirt with ruffles design, sleeves full and puffed, white lace mitts. The bridesmaids have gowns of pale aqua marquisette, identical to the maid of honor’s. Headdresses are hats with open back, same color as dresses, and made of net and trimmed with small velvet bows. All the bride’s attendants have white lace mitts to match the bride’s. As a gift from the bride, the maid of honor and bridesmaids received ear rings, a combination of pearl and rhinestone.

A wedding dinner will be served at the Hotel Charles in Marshfield for immediate relatives and friends, covers being laid for 22. Table decorations consist of two mixed flower bouquets, a large wedding cake and several large ornamental candles, the color scheme being yellow, aqua and white. A dance will be given this Thursday evening at Walter’s pavilion with music furnished by Emil and his band.

The groom’s attendants are wearing grey suits with boutonnieres of white roses.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and now is employed in the office of supervisor of assessments at Wausau where she has worked the past three and one-half years. The groom is employed by the Marathon Bait Company of Wausau.

The couple will leave on a wedding trip Friday morning to Niagara Falls, New York, and Washington, D.C. They will be at home after April 21st at 617 Jefferson St., Wausau, Wis.

Wedding guests include Mr. and Mrs. Wm. F. Rohlf, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Stieber, Miss Evangeline Stemke, Henry Gaetzman, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Koffarnus, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bauman, Miss Jewell Johnson, all of Wausau, Ray Kramer of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, Jr., of Unity, Mrs. Gust Laack of Abbotsford, Rev. and Mrs. O. Hoffmann and Mrs. August Stock of Colby, Wisconsin.
