Salter, Jennie (29 Nov. 1861 - 26 Feb. 1946)

Mrs. Jennie Salter died at her home in Unity Tuesday morning at 9:00 o’clock at the age of 84 years. She was injured in a fall at her home Nov. 29th and had been a patient at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital until about ten days ago when she was taken home. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home until Friday when funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 P.M. and at the Unity Methodist church at 2:00 P.M.

Mrs. Salter was born at Madison, Wis., on Nov. 29, 1861, where she was married to Mr. Salter on August 24, 1880. They moved to Unity the same year where Mr. Salter engaged in the mercantile business and did some logging and lumbering. He organized the Unity High School district and was the first principal of the school and held that position for three years.

Surviving are four daughters and two sons - Mrs. E. C. (Belle) Vogt of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. James (Dorothy) Stump of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Harvey (Elizabeth) Eby of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Marion Tstschudy of Monroe, Wis., and Art and Theodore Salter of Unity. Also one brother, Arthur Gallagher of Madison. There are eight grand children and one great grand child.
