Herrmann, Irene L. (Marriage - 30 Nov. 1946)

Miss Irene L. Herrmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Herrmann, and Royal A. Awe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Awe, exchanged marriage vows at the First Ev. and Reformed church Saturday, November 30th, at 1:30 P.M., Rev. R. G. Leonhardt reading the services. Miss Evelyn Herrmann of Eau Claire, a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Marie Hackel of Abbotsford was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Merlin Behringer of Marshfield and Kenneth Herrmann. Mr. Eugene Herrmann of Milwaukee sang "Because" and "Oh, Perfect Love."

The bride was attired in a gown of white slipper satin with a full overskirt of marquisette de soi ending in a long train, long sleeves coming to a point over the wrist, buttons down the back, fingertip veil of imported illusion, seed pearl coronet and wore a pearl necklace and ear rings. Her bouquet consisted of roses, chrysanthemums and mums. Her two attendants were dressed alike - black velvet bodice, full white net skirts, headdresses of yellow mums and white net and wore pearl ear rings. Their wrist corsages consisted of yellow mums.

A reception and dinner was given at the home of the bride’s parents for 40 guests. The home was decorated with white and yellow streamers and flowers and a three-tiered wedding cake centered the bridal table.

The young couple made a short wedding trip to Manitowoc and Oconomowoc and are at home on a farm in the town of Colby, Wis.

Out of town people here for the wedding were Eugene Herrmann of Milwaukee, Merlin Behringer of Marshfield, Miss Evelyn Herrmann of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ruprich and son of Dorchester, Mr. and and Mrs. Edwin Awe of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Awe and son of Manitowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jable of Berwen, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Wirtels of Waukegan, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kalponen of Owen, Mrs. Wm. Owen and daughter of Sturdevant, Wis.
