Witt, Alexander Louis (13 June 1894 - June 1945)

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday for Alexander Louis Witt who died at the age of 51 years at Arpin. Rev. George Griffiths, pastor of the Abbotsford Presbyterian church, officiated at short services at 9:00 A.M. at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body had been lying in state. From Abbotsford, the body was taken to Clintonville where Rev. Griffiths conducted another service that afternoon. Internment was made in Clintonville.

The deceased was born on June 13, 1894, in the town of Larrabee, Waupaca county, and was married at Big Falls on Sept. 17, 1917, to Leanora Matthias. He had been a cheesemaker since he was 15 years of age and was a resident of Abbotsford the past four years.

Surviving are his wife and four children, Mrs. Doris Mildy of Milwaukee, Julius and Frieda Witt, both at home, and Mrs. Alice Wolner of Chicago; two brothers, Henry C. Witt of Tomah and Edwin Witt of Clintonville; a sister, Mrs. Martha Schellien; and six grand children. Three brothers are dead.
