Fink, Lucille (Marriage - 2 June 1945)

Miss Lucille Fink, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fink of Colby, became the bride of Roland F. Hass, son of Mrs. Carl Meinke of Unity, on Saturday afternoon at one o’clock at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church at Colby, Rev. O. Hoffmann performing the double ring ceremony. Music was furnished by Ervin Lutz, organist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a princess style gown of rayon taffeta with wide lace insets bordering the sweetheart neckline and in the long entrained skirt. Her fingertip veil was held in place with a coronet of white beads. She wore a gold cross, a gift of the groom, and a rhinestone pin worn by her mother on her wedding day 42 years ago, and carried a blue handkerchief. Her bouquet consisted of gardenias and swansonia.

Miss Esther Weber of Marshfield, a cousin of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a gown of white net, over satin, made with a shirred bodice and full skirt. Her white shoulder length veil was fastened to a headdress of white flowers.

The bridesmaids were Miss Bernita Wiegman, cousin of the bride, and Miss Marion Gosse. Miss Wiegman wore a gown of blue net with large bows on the full skirt, and Miss Gosse’s gown of pink net was fashioned with a row of tiny pink buttons on the front of the bodice and small flowers of net on the full skirt. Both wore matching shoulder length veils caught to matching flower headdresses. All three attendants carried colonial bouquets of mixed spring flowers and wore pins, gifts of the bride.

The groom was attended by his brothers, Frank, and Rueben Hass, and LaVerne Weber of Marshfield. Rheinhart Wiersig, cousin of the groom, and Walter Fink, brother of the bride, acted as ushers.

The bride’s mother wore a gray and white dress with black accessories, and the groom’s mother was attired in a blue dress with white accessories. Following the ceremony a reception was held and supper was served to immediate relatives and friends at the home of the bride’s parents, decorated with white, pink and blue streamers. In the evening a dance was given at the Wiedenhoeft park.

The bride is a graduate of the Colby, Wis. High School with the class of 1944, and for the past year has been employed by the Johnson Co. at Marshfield. The couple will make their home on the groom’s farm near Colby, Wis.

Guests from out of town at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. William Weber and family and Mr. and Mrs. Rheinhold Werth of Marshfield, Elmer Werth of Sheboygan, Frank Hass of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rapp of Wausau, Mrs. Carl Meinke and family of Unity and Rueben Hass of Curtiss, Wis.
