Tesmer, Lorraine (16 Aug. 1912 - 3 Aug. 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur Tesmer of Owen, the former Lorraine Riplinger of Colby and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Riplinger, were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby Monday afternoon, August 7th, Rev. G. R. Griffiths, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Abbotsford, officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Malcolm Lamont of Abbotsford, Frederick Zassenhaus of Appleton, Roy Clark of Owen, Arnold Huber of Owen, Bud Hemmy of Colby and Ed Bergstrom of Owen, Wis.

The deceased was born in Colby, Wis., on August 16, 1912, thus reaching the age of 31 years, 11 months and 17 days. She attended Colby, Wis. High School, Milwaukee State Teachers’ College and Central State Teachers’ College and the University of Wisconsin. She taught school at Neillsville, Wis. Her marriage to Arthur Tesmer took place on June 4, 1937, and since that time she resided at Owen, Wis. She died at 7:15 A.M. Thursday, August 3, a lingering heart ailment of 12 years duration being the cause of her death.

Surviving besides her husband and parents are a four year old daughter, Natalie; two sisters, Mrs. Wm. (Vernetta) George of Gilman and Mrs. Ray (Grace) Harvey of Chicago; and one brother, Ben M. Riplinger of Camp Howze, Texas.

Out of town people here for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Sturner and Ethlynn Sturner of St. Paul, Minn., Arva Sturner of Milwaukee, Emil and Phyllis Sturner of Lowell, Mr. and Mrs. John Sturner of Holcomb, Hubert Sturner of Holcomb, Mrs. Carla Sturner of Stanley, Mrs. Dora Nelander of Reesville, 2/5 Toshio Saigi of Camp Savage, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Riplinger of Riplinger, Mr. and Mrs. William George and Billy of Gilman, Mrs. Ray W. Harvey of Chicago, Ben M. Riplinger of Camp Howze, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Drangle of Gilman and Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Zander of Merrill.

The deceased was of a kindly and friendly disposition and had many friends in Colby and Owen who were sorry to learn of her death. She will be missed by a host of friends besides members of her family.
