Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seelow of Bangor, Maine, visited recently at the Archie Kirby home.

School will open here on the 30th of August.

Oscar Hein is visiting at the home of his brother, William Hine here and his sister, Mrs. Anna Brandsteader.

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Anderson sold their farm north of the village and are moving into town this week into the former Ben Hart house.

Rev. John Miecheals of Clay City, Indiana, will be here next Sunday and will preach at the Reformed Church at 11 o’clock. Rev. Miecheals is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Miecheals and he and his wife are visiting their parents here.

There will be no preaching services at the Methodist Church for the next two Sundays, as Rev. and Mrs. Wright are on their vacation. They are visiting Mrs. Wright’s parents at Finley, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roslack of Eau Claire spent the weekend with Mrs. George Barclay.

Miss Dorothy Hardwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hardwick of Milwaukee, Wis., and Lt. Ernest Amport, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Amport of Kansasville, were married in Milwaukee recently. Both of these young people are graduates of the Humbird High School.

Mrs. Art Simons spent part of last week visiting at the G. E. Stanley home in Altoona.

Arnie Thies had his car badly damaged last Saturday night when he was struck in the back by a car as he was returning from Fairchild. Occupants in the other car were cut and bruised and one of the girls suffered a broken collar bone.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Dignin and family spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Gilman Blum of Osseo.

William Hardwick, who has been treated for an eye infection, is being removed to the state hospital at Madison for further treatments. Mr. Hardwick has not been improving satisfactorily, and the present effort is to save his sight.

Mrs. Morris Kretschmer is enjoying a visit from her sister of Mondovi.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Senske and family of Augusta have moved into the house vacated by George Nelson last winter.

Miss Esther Laffe visited relatives in Madison and Morrison*[rest cut off here.]
