Subke, Florence M. (24 AUG 1940)

A home wedding of charm was held Saturday evening, Aug. 24, 1940, when Miss Florence Marjorie Subke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Subke, 3201 Grand Avenue, became the bride of Carl I. Dahl, 3502 Wetmore Avenue, of Everett, Wash. The Rev. Olaf C. Heland of Calvary Lutheran Church performed the ceremony at eight o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents in the presence of 40 guests.

Arthur Anderson sang, I Love You Truly, accompanied by Mrs. William Wyckoff, sister of the bride, who played the Lohengrin Wedding March..

The bride was attired in a costume suit of Indian earth wool crepe trimmed with red fox fur. Her corsage was of gardenias, stephanotis and white rose buds. Attending her as matron of honor was Mrs. Henry Massie Jr. of Bremerton, Wash., who wore a street frock of brown silk crepe with a corsage of gladioli, rosebuds and sweet peas.

Miss Sylvia M. Subke, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Her street frock was of soldier blue angora wool with which she wore a corsage of gladioli, sweet peas and rosebuds.

Henry Massie Jr. of Bremerton was best man for Mr. Dahl.

Mrs. Subke wore blue crepe print for her daughter’s wedding and Mrs. Dahl, mother of the bridegroom, was in navy blue crepe. Both had corsages of gladioli and rosebuds.

Tapers in two candelabras and large white baskets of salmon pink and white gladioli provided the floral setting for the wedding rites.

At the reception which followed, Mrs. Harold Weeks, sister of the bride, presided at the urns and Mrs. Harold Olafson assisted in serving. Miss Doris Fallings of North Bend, niece of the groom, was in charge of the bride’s book.

Mr. and Mrs. Dahl left on a short wedding trip to Eastern Washington and are now at home at 3826 High St., Everett, Wash.

The bride is a graduate of Eau Claire Senior High, and of the Kulshan School of Beauty, Everett, Wash. She attended the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) school through her sophomore year of high school, before moving to Eau Claire.

Mr. Dahl is a graduate of Everett (Wash.) High School.
