Kesler, Anita Rose (Marriage - 27 June 1942)

Lighted tapers and mock orange blossoms on the altar of St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., set the scene for the wedding of Miss Anita Kesler, daughter of Mrs. Chas. Kesler of Colby, and Lawrence Untiedt, son of John Untiedt of Curtiss, last Saturday morning. The Rev. L. J. Lang read the nuptial mass.

The bride was becomingly attired in a white slipper satin gown fashioned with long sleeves tapering at the wrist, sweetheart neckline, tiny buttons below the waist in back, and a long train. Her veil of net and lace was fastened to her hair with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

Mrs. William Schacht of Wisconsin Rapids attended her sister as matron of honor. Her gown of canary yellow chiffon was designed with short, puff sleeves and gathered bodice. A matching hat completed the ensemble. Miss Viola Untiedt of Chicago, sister of the bridegroom, wore a dress of shell pink chiffon with long, full sleeves and matching hat. Their bouquets were formed of roses and carnations.

The bridegroom was attended by William Schacht and Oliver Kesler, the bride’s brother.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, which was decorated with streamers and flowers. Dinner and supper were served to about 80 guests.

The bride is a graduate of Colby, Wis. High school and has been employed in Milwaukee.
