Vandehey, Julia (24 Mar. 1879 - 23 Jan. 1942)

Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel Vandehey, age 62, who died Friday evening at St. Vincent’s hospital in Green Bay after suffering a stroke on January 20th at the home of her son, Maynard Vandehey, in Green Bay, were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and burial was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Joseph Hecker, Geo. Roth, Leon Hoeser, C. J. Kraus, Conrad Niggemann and John Schlimm.

Mrs. Vandehey, the former Julia Laessig, was born in Wausau on March 24, 1879, and married Mr. Vandehey in Stratford on June 26, 1900. The couple purchased a farm in the town of Beaver, Clark county, and operated it for 39 years before retiring and moving to Colby, Wis. Surviving are her husband and three daughters and four sons, namely - Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft of Colby, Sister M. Antilia of Sparta, Mrs. Frank Niebauer of Wisconsin Rapids, Maynard Vandehey of Green Bay, Wis., Harold, Lawrence and Ralph Vandehey of Los Angeles, Calif. Also a sister and two brothers - Mrs. John Kissinger of Victoria, B.C., and Frank and Charles Laessig of Stratford. There are 15 grand children.

Mrs. Vandehey was a member of the Christian Mothers’ society of St. Mary’s congregation.
