Mrs. Brandt was gowned in a dress of black crepe trimmed with black velvet and wore a shoulder corsage of gold flowers. About her neck she wore a gold necklace, a gift presented to her by the groom on her wedding day, 50 years ago. Mr. Brandt wore a dark oxford grey dress suit.

August Carl Frederick Brandt, child of August and Louisa Brandt, was born Oct. 29, 1866, in Pinnow, Germany, where he spent most of his childhood years, coming to America in Dec. 1884, where he worked at odd jobs until in the spring of 1890, when he bought the farm on which he and his wife lived until a few months prior to this grand event.

Mrs. Brandt (Nee Ida Henrietta Prust), child of Henry and Minnie Prust, was born in Marienhagen, Germany, on the 6th day of January 1870, coming to this country in the fall of 1889.

She was employed in a hotel at Glenwood city, where she met and later married her husband on the second day of March, 1890. The Rev. John Kurtz of New Richmond, performed the ceremony.

He was also in the charcoal business for several years at Withee, Spencer, Auburndale, and Milladore.

Mr. and Mrs. Brandt have been members of the German Lutheran Church for the past 50 years, at one time holding a church office. Mrs. Brandt was a member of the Ladies Aid of that church for the past several years.

The happy couple were blessed with six children, William August, who was born Nov. 29, 1890, and gave them 16 years of happiness being called to his eternal home on March 16, 1906.
