COLBY -- Luella Ernestine Krauter, 95, of Watertown, formerly of Colby, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Watertown under the care of River Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Luella Krauter

COLBY -- Luella Ernestine Krauter, 95, of Watertown, formerly of Colby, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Watertown under the care of River Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby, Wis. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Schroeder, Mark Schroeder, Matthew Krauter, Joshua Krauter, Steven Simons and Russell Simons. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Schroeder.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Luella Ernestine Rica Ladwig Krauter was born June 8, 1912, in Colby to Frank and Emma (Krum) Ladwig. She graduated from Colby, Wis. High School. Luella and Arnold Krauter were married June 14, 1941. He preceded her in death. After graduating from Colby, she furthered her education, becoming a teacher. She taught in the rural Colby Schools and for 30 plus years at the Zion Lutheran Christian School in Colby, Wis.

She loved to play cards and go fishing. She was devoted to her family, friends, and her church. She surrounded those around her with warmth and joy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Luella is survived by her children, Carol (Karl) Kapke of Pelican Lake, Sandra (William) Schroeder of Brown Deer, Gary (Deborah) Krauter of Colby, and Linda (William) Baurichter of Watertown; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, Scott (Rhonda) Schroeder and their children, Tyler and Rachel; Mark (Jill) Schroeder and their children, Mitchell and Jacob; Jason (Amy) Schroeder and their children, Evan and Elsie; Matthew (Rebecca) Krauter; Joshua Krauter and his daughter, Alexandra; Steven (Janet) Simons and their children, Amber and Alex; Lisa Albrecht and her children, Geory, Andrew, and Kessa; Jennifer Simons; and Russell (Julie) Simons and their children, Brian and Jack; and two sisters, Lila Anderson of Spencer, and Clara Westberg of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arnold.
