Mr. Horner was born in Manitowoc county June 9, 1856, and was married at Unity to Miss Theresa Brandner on April 10, 1880. They observed their 60th wedding anniversary this spring. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Horner purchased a tract of land in the town of Beaver where they lived for 15 years. After selling their farm, they purchased a tract of forest land in the town of Green Grove where they lived until 1919 when they moved to the city of Colby which has since been their home.

Surviving are his widow and seven children - Mrs. Paul (Mary) Scheff of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Rudolph (Louise) Benehemann of Sterling, Colorado, Mrs. Michael (Mathilda) Marx of Kenosha, Miss Helen Horner, at home, William and John Horner of Milwaukee and Alvin Horner of Kenosha. Also surviving are a brother, Frank, of the town of Beaver, 19 grand children and two great grand children.
