Tomczak-Kliauga, Julia (10 June 1915 - 22 Apr. 2004)

THORP - Julia Tomczak-Kliauga, 88, of Owen, formerly of Thorp, died April 22, 2004, at Clark County Health Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thorp Funeral Home.

Julia was born June 10, 1915, in Sobieski to Frank and Sophie (Mas) Gasior. She was united in marriage to John Tomczak on Nov. 9, 1929, at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. They lived in Chicago, where Julia worked as a riveter at Douglas Aircraft. They moved to the town of Thorp in 1930, and she farmed with her husband. He died Dec. 12, 1966. She then worked at Blue Moon Cheese and married Ray Kliauga on June 10, 1972. They lived in Longwood. Her husband died Aug. 12, 2000.

She is survived by three children, Steven (Wanetta) Tomczak, Thorp, Florence (Ted) Waszak, Withee, and Donald (friend, Debra Jankowski), Brooksville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
