FT. WORTH, TX/WISCONSIN - Marvell Patricia "Pat" Christophersen (Ellingson), 67, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Ft. Worth, TX. Pat was born on Dec. 21, 1937, in Owen, WI, the daughter of Arvin Sr. and Marie Ellingson. She graduated from high school in Gladstone, MI, and from Milwaukee Downer Women’s College (currently Lawrence University) with a B. S. degree in Home Economics. She was united in marriage in 1959 to John E. Christophersen Sr. in Dubuque, IA.

She was employed as a social worker, substitute teacher, and spent 22 years in the bakery industry. She spent many years at home raising her family. Pat returned to school in Texas in 1995 and earned a degree as a Dietetic Technician. She was employed at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth until her health declined. During her life she founded chapters of AAUW in Berlin and Portage, WI, was an active member of the American Dietetic Association and All Saints Episcopal Church. She was a voracious reader her entire life. Other interests included attending the theatre, gardening, spending time outside, visiting her children and families in Wisconsin, and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and at church.

Pat is survived by her 4 children: John E. Christophersen Jr. of Eau Claire, WI, Linda (Dave) Daane of Janesville, WI, Kristin (Nathan) Considine of Baraboo, WI, and Julie (Steven) Broda of Janesville, WI; 9 grandchildren: Michael Christophersen, Jill, Ryan, Kevin, and Mark Daane, Hannah, Adam, Heidi, and Eli Considine; a brother, A. B. "Sparky" Ellingson Jr. of Ft. Worth, TX; former husband, John E. Christophersen Sr. of Wyocena, WI; and other relatives and dear friends. Her parents preceded her in death.

Special thanks to Uncle Sparky, Carmel Andrews, Barb Dana, Dr. Tom Ellis, the ICU and sub-acute staff of Harris Methodist Downtown and Southwest, and all those who visited Mom during her 4 year battle with cancer and treatment. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, The Gideons International, or a public library.

There will be a memorial service in Ft. Worth, TX at All Saints Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be also held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 111 6thSt., Baraboo, WI, on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 11:00 a.m.
