Larson, Gerald H. (17 May 1921 - 20 June 2005)

Gerald H. Larson, 84, of Oshkosh died Monday June 20, 2005 at Oshkosh Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Gerald was born May 17, 1921 in Owen, WI. a son of Oscar and Ida (Hanson) Larson. He married Betty Whitman on July 1, 1946 in Oshkosh.

Gerald served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he worked as a painter for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Oshkosh, a son, Steven (Donna) of Oshkosh, brother, Oscar "Chub" Larson Jr. of Oregon, two grandchildren, Michelle O’Neil of Oshkosh, and Jason (Barb) Larson of Pardeeville, a son-in-law, Dan O’Neil of Oshkosh, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy O’Neil, and two sisters, Roberta Bergerud, and Phyllis Wellman.

A memorial service for Gerald will be held on Friday June 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church (808 N. Main St.), with Rev. Joel Olsen officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
