Sopiarz, Albin (15 JAN 1919 - 15 MAY 1939)

Last rites were conducted by Revs. Father F.A. Kulig and Father C.A. Wisniewski at St. Hedwig’s Church at 9 o’clock last Saturday morning for Albin Sopiarz who passed away at Englewood hospital, Chicago, at 2:35 p.m. May 15th, 1939. He was the victim of a rheumatic heart, having been ill and under medical care since last December.

The deceased had reached the age of twenty years and four months. He was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Jan. 15th, 1919, and while still an infant came to Thorp (Clark Co. Wis.) with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Sopiarz, residing in the town of Withee.

He leaves to mourn, besides his parents, six brothers, Eddie, Leon, Walter, Frankie and John of Thorp, and Joseph of Chicago, five sisters, Mathilda, Elizabeth, Helen, Valeria and Dolores of Thorp.

It is sad to give up one whose influence among men would doubtless have been for good; who by precept and example was so well calculated to spread abroad the blessed influence of godly living. Yet He who doeth all things well, makes no mistakes. The human link snapped asunder on earth is forged anew in heave. The yearning parents mourn not as one without hope. It is true that when beautiful youth is gone not much life remains; hence the earthly trials. In his springtime of enthusiasm and tenderness, ere the sunshine of hope and joy was extinguished, he passed to the glorious beyond.

The body was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Stanley Sniegowski, Louis Smigaj, Louis Szymanski, Stanley Jasinek, Leon Moczarny and Rudolph Lendowski.
