Louis Horn, aged 78 years, died at his home a short distance wet of the hospital, Saturday, his death being caused by the infirmities of old age and physical complications.

Louis Henry Horn was born at Moeckmuehl, Wurttemberg, Germany, Dec. 20, 1860. He grew to young manhood in his native village, going through the common school of that place. Later he attended Heilbroun College for two years and at the age of 21 came to America.. After working in Chicago two years, he came to Clark County, where he lived the greater part of his life.

Eleven years ago he came to Ladysmith, where he has since made his home. On Dec. 23, 1894, he was united in marriage to Josephine Hornel of Humbird (Clark Co.) and five children were born to this union. One son, Robert preceded him in death many years ago. The children now living are: Alfred of Ladysmith, Ralph of Gardiner, Mont., Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Ladysmith and Vivian Horn of Madison.

For many years he was occupied in the mercantile business, operating stores at Curtiss, Abbotsford and Withee. He also operated cheese factories at Thorp, Withee, Shortville and Edson Center.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from the Ellingboe Fuenral Home, with Rev. W. Taylor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial was made at Edson Cemetery near Boyd (Chippewa Co.)

Relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Jule Henning and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilson of Eau Claire; Mrs. Arnold Matti of Humbird; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kipp of Ingram.
