Lund, Elizabeth (30 NOV 1848 - 24 OCT 1938)

Mrs. Elizabeth Andrews Lund was born in London, England, Nov. 30, 1848, and passed away at her home in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), Oct. 24th, 1938, having reached the age of 89 years, 10 months and 24 days, being one of a family of eight children.

With her parents, she came to the United States in November 1855, at the age of seven years. In the year 1869 she came to Chippewa County, and on June 23, 1870, was married to Myron Lund at Edson, Wis. He passed away Sept. 5, 1935. She has been a resident of Thorp since 1918.

To this union five boys were born, three of whom survive: J.E. of Thorp; V.M. of River Falls, and C.A. of Eau Claire; also four grandchildren: Glen Lund, Cleveland, Ohio; Alice E. McChesney, Cornell, Wis., Loren M., Madison, Wis.; Vera E., River Falls, Wis.; and two great-grandchildren: Neal Glen Lund and David Allen McChesney, and a sister residing in the state of Michigan.

She was a charter member of Mayflower Rebekah Lodge of Thorp, which organization, together with the Stanley Rebekah Lodge, attended the funeral services in a body at the Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. James Irish officiating. Mrs. Grace Rusch, accompanied by Miss Harriet Malberg, sang three songs.

The pallbearers were all nephews: F.E. Andrews, A.J. Mohr, Emil Welzien, Noah Mock, Joseph Mitchell and Tom Mitchell.

The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in Union Cemetery, at Edson (Chippewa Co.), Wis.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Mohr, Miss Fern Mohr, L.A. Mohr, Mrs. Zina Koepke, all of Bloomer, Wis.; Eugene Supple, Mrs. O. Caron, Mrs. Bertha Butscher, Mrs. E. Korb, all of Boyd, Wis.; Mrs. Walter Fults of Abbotsford, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Welzien, Greenwood, Wis.; Mrs. Sabra Berry, Mrs. Susie Mitchell, Miss Hattie Mitchell, D. Mock, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Mock, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Mock, Mrs. Altha Cripe, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. D.S. Cooley, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Grindle, Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Mohr, all of Stanley; and those from the I.O.O.F., of Stanley, attending were: Messrs. And Mesdames H.B. Ross, Fred Goddard, Elmer Healy, and Chas. Giauque; and Mesdames S.C. Muenzel, F. Wilcox, Wm. Stair, R.B. Moldenhauer, and Chas. Poppe.
