Olson, Anna (16 Jan. 1865 - 9 Nov. 1938)

Mrs. Anna Olson passed away at her home in Abbotsford Wednesday morning and funeral services will be held at the Zion Lutheran church in Colby Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M., Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating. Obituary will be published next week.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Olson, age 73, who died at her home at 1:20 A.M. November 9th, were held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church at Colby, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating. Internment was made in the Colby cemetery besides the graves of her husband, Nels, and two sons, Sanford and Gayhardt. Flowers were carried by the Misses Marion Frome, Marcella and Lorraine Loos, Roselyn Vanderhoof, Verna Miller, Vivian Moore, Joyce and Virginia Johnson, Ruth Dolan, Evelyn Hoeft and Alice Kramer. Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased - Edwin Hanson, Emil Hanson, Gordon Hanson, Oscar Olson, Clifford Anderson and Gayhardt Hanson.

She is survived by two sons - Harry of Abbotsford and Clarence of Colby, one sister, Mrs. Rachel Hougen of Stoughton, three brothers, Holver Hanson of Utah, Ole Hanson and Sern Hanson of Winchester, four grand children, Gladys and Laverne Olson of Colby and Mildred and Harvey Olson of Abbotsford, Wis.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Ole Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Sern Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Poezzle, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Tesmer, Mrs. Harry Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. Gayhardt Hanson, all of Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hanson and sons, Owen and Emerson, of Cadott, Mr. and Mrs. John Rochin and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vanderhoof of Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Van Sleet of Unity.

The deceased was born at Winchester Jan. 16, 1865. She was united in marriage to Nels Olson at Winchester Nov. 26, 1889. To this union four children were born, Harry, Clarence, Gayhardt and Sanford. In 1902 they moved onto a farm in the town of Holton. In 1918 they purchased the Wayside cheese factory which they operated until 1925 when they purchased a home at Abbotsford where they have since resided. Mr. Olson died June 30th, 1930. Two sons, Gayhardt and Sanford, also preceded her in death.
