Gould, Frank (6 APR 1863 - 10 OCT 1938)

The many friends of Frank Gould will regret to learn of his death which occurred at the home of his sister, Mrs. L.M. Williams in this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), on Wednesday evening, Oct. 19, 1938. He was 75 years of age at the time of his passing. Mr. Gould had been in failing health for the past several months and had been to the General Hospital at Madison, where he received treatment for some time. He seemed improved upon his return to the home of his sister. The past two weeks he had failed rapidly in health.

Frank Gould was born at Desoto on April 6, 1863. His early boyhood days were spent on his father’s farm near Genoa. In his early teens he came to the northern section of Wisconsin and settled in Taylor County, where he was employed for a number of years by the Anderson Brothers, working as a teamster in their logging camps.

He was united in marriage to Miss Carrie DeMorris in 1893, and to this union was born four sons, George, Tom, Warren and Douglas, and two daughters, Mae and Gladys, who died in infancy.

In 1908 Mr. and Mrs. Gould and family moved from Taylor County to Iowa, where they resided for a short time before moving to South Dakota, where the family settled on a farm and resided for several years. While residing in South Dakota, Mr. Gould lost the comfort of his loving wife, when she preceded him in death. Frank returned from South Dakota to Owen in the fall of 1926 and has since made his home with his sister. He has been employed doing farm work in the vicinity of Owen of late years.

Funeral services were conducted from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Parlors with Rev. P.F. Pfaffman officiating, Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers at the service were Messrs. Orville Thorson, Kenneth Tiedeman, Robert Thompson, Peter Madsen, W.P. Hilt and Axel Lindgren.
