Bowen, Velma M. (AUG 1938)

A pale blue street length dress was worn by Miss Velma Mae Bowen, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), for her marriage to James Leslie Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Moore, Barron, which took place in Owen recently. The Rev. J.H. Rostad read the marriage service at 2 o’clock.

Miss Gertrude B. Frank and Millard Bowen attended the couple.

Miss Frank wore a street dress of dark blue with a bouquet of sweet peas. The bride’s bouquet combined garden flowers.

Immediate relatives and friends were entertained at a reception and wedding supper at the home of the bride. Covers were laid for 50 guests, including the following from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Brookans, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Smith, Greenwood.

For the present time the couple will make their home at the bride’s parents. The groom is a field man for the Owen-Curtiss Dairy Herd Improvement Association.

A wedding dance was held Monday night at the Curtiss Village Hall. On Wednesday evening the couple was honored at a miscellaneous shower given at the home of the bride’s parents.
