Cora was my paternal grandmother who died at 28 years of age from sepsis (Steve Smith-her dad, Adeline Comstock-her mom, and Westley are some surnames I am familiar with on her side). I was told this was due to unsanitary conditions and complications during the birth of her fifth child Harold. Bobby-mentioned here-was my dad-Robert Lester Lubinski-born in 1917 and passed away in 1998 at 80 years of age. Her obituary here mentions she gave birth to 5 children but only mentions Virgil, Lilas, Bobby and Harold. This further states she was laid to rest in the Mentor Township Cemetery next to her 2 children. A cross reference with the cemetery listing only identifies Harold as being buried there. Cora's other child-a girl-I do believe named Viola is also buried there. It is written that she died from injuries she sustained when she fell from a "sewing" machine. Being an old farmgirl myself...the story was never clear as to what type of "sewing" machine...one used for sewing and mending or an actual farm implement. My dad was all of 2 years old when his mom died but still could recount early memories of her being a loving and caring mother. I regret never knowing her-except in word and cherish what additional information I have found here on this website. Thank you so much. Deborah Sue Lubinski
