Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Jischkowski, whose death was reported last week, were held at the Evangelical and reformed church in Colby Friday afternoon, Rev. S. A. Schmiechen officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were John Biell and Fred Baumgart of Colby, and D. R. McDonald, John Augustine, Albert Raths and Mr. Edwards of Atwood. Those in charge of the flowers were Gloria Hardy, Adeline Jischkowski, Ruth Domer and Lavern Kleinstick.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Mathilda Panke, was born in Germany Jan. 11, 1860, thus reaching the age of seventy-seven years, ten months and ten days. She was married to Wilhelm Jischkowski in Germany and shortly after, forty-six years ago, came to the United States, coming directly to Colby. They lived here for eleven years and built what is now the Fred Diedrich residence. From Colby, they moved onto a farm near Atwood where they made their home until death called them. Mrs. Jischkowski passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 16th, at 11:12 as the result of a stroke of paralysis and after an illness of several months. Her husband died thirteen years ago. Two children also preceded them in death.

The surviving children are Mrs. Lizzie Adrainsen of Park Falls, Mrs. Amelia Sprague of St. Paul, Mrs. Edna Domer of Eau Claire, Richard of Park Ridge, Ill., Leopold of Oshkosh and Paul and Herman at home.
