Hansen, Dorthea (6 JAN 1865 - 7 MAY 1938)

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday of this week at the Danish Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), for Mrs. Anders Hansen, who passed away Saturday, May 7, 1938, at the home of Mrs. Carl Rasmussen at St. Paul, Minn. The Rev. Hoist officiated at the service. Interment was made in the church cemetery at Withee.

Mrs. Hansen was born on Jan. 6, 1865, in Denmark, moving to America with her parents while still a small child. She grew to womanhood while living in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where her folks had settled. On Jan. 4, 1884, she was united in marriage to Anders Hansen at Cedar Falls. To this union were born ten children, two boys, Peter J. Hansen of Albert Lea, Minn., and Holger of Minneapolis; 8 daughters, Mrs. C. Broderson of Cohasset, Minn., Mrs. Marie Hansen and Mrs. Ernest Jacobsen of Minneapolis, Mrs. Carl Andreasen of Withee, Mrs. U.J. Norgaard of Oneida, S.D., Miss Elizabeth Hansen of Phoenix, Ariz., Miss Marqutha Hansen of Chicago and Mrs. Carl Rasmussen of St. Paul, at whose home Mrs. Hansen was staying at the time of her death. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Martin Thorndahl and Mrs. Anna Neilsen, both of Eugene, Ore., and two brothers, Theodore Juhl of Cedar Falls, Ia., and Lorenz Juhl of Clifton, Colo.

Mrs. Hansen had lived for 35 years in the village of Withee. She was loved by all that knew her for her pleasant and cheerful disposition and the hospitality that she always displayed to her friends. She was deeply devoted to her children and friends and at the same time always found time for her church and society work. Mrs. Hansen was a devoted Christian and a loveable woman who will be missed by her many friends and loved ones.

Broderson of Cohasset, Minn., and daughter, Dorothy of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Hansen of Albert Lea, Minn., and daughter, Helen of Waterloo, Ia., Mrs. Marie Hansen of St. Paul, and daughters, Bertha and Helen of Minneapolis, and sons, Holger and Melvin of Minneapolis and Harold of Fifield, Mr. and Mrs. U.J. Norgaard and children, Ruth and Daniel, of Oneida, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Holger Hansen and children, Phyllis and Donald of Minneapolis, Rev. and Mrs. Rasmussen and children, Grace and Dorothy of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jacobsen, Minneapolis and Marqutha Hansen of Chicago.

Miss Elizabeth Hansen of Phoenix, Ariz. Was unable to attend.
