Wiersig, Frieda Adelia Hilda (6 Apr. 1919 - 19 Sept. 1937)

Miss Frieda Adelia Hilda Wiersig, 18 year old daughter of Ewald Wiersig, died at nine o’clock Sunday night at the Marshfield hospital as the result of cerebral hemorrhage which she sustained several hours earlier. Miss Wiersig, employed at the L. M. Firnstahl home, had finished her work and was ready to leave for the movies when she suddenly became ill and unable to speak. She was rushed immediately to the Marshfield hospital where doctors discovered a brain hemorrhage which had paralyzed the entire left side of her body. She died an hour and a half after she became ill. Funeral services were held at one o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Wiersig home and at two o’clock at Zion Ev. Luthean church, Rev. O. H. Hoffmann officiating and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The pall bearers were Art. Wiersig, Ray Wiersig, Herbert Wiersig, Walter Runzheimer, Erwin Runzheimer and Roland Hass. The flower girls were Litta Runzheimer, Evelyn Wiersig, Ella Hass, Lucinda Wiersig, Renata Wiersig, Erma Wiersig, Mrs. Ervin Weller and Mabel Kuse.

The deceased was born on April 6, 1919, in the town of Hull, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Wiersig. She attended the Lutheran parochial school and was an active member of the Walther League Society. She was a good Christian, always ready to perform her duties and of a congenial disposition. Her sudden departure will be missed not only by relatives but also a host of friends.

Besides her father, two brothers and three sisters survive - Harold, Reinhard, Ella, Hilda and Olga. Her mother passed away five years ago.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wiersig of Watertown, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wiersig of Wausau, Herman Hass, Attilia Hass, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Kloehn, Mr. and Mrs. August Kloehn, Mrs. Emma Ewert, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weber and family, William Wirth, all of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Frank and family of Spencer, Ida Hass of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kuse and family of Auburndale.
