Witte, Ione Marie (Marriage - 19 June 1937)

Miss Ione Marie Witte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Witte of the town of Hull, a graduate of the Marathon county normal and a teacher in the Marathon county schools for several years, and Mr. Adam J. Fitzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Wucherpfenning of the town of Hull, were married before the altar of St. John’s Evangelical church of Colby Saturday, June 19, Rev. E. E. Schieler of Athens officiating. The altar was decorated with baskets of summer flowers. Miss Stella Amundson and Ben Fitzel attended the couple.

The bride was attired in a long entrained gown of white lace over satin trimmed with tiny satin buttons and seed pearls. Her headdress was an arrangement of white rosebuds and she carried a bouquet of white roses and feverfew, showered with swansonia.

The bridesmaid, in a frock of nile green mousseline d’soie wore a matching headdress and a shoulder spray of mixed flowers.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and a supper was served to 100 guests. A profusion of garden flowers and green and white streamers tapering to a wedding bell decorated the house. Guests from away included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hader and daughter, Iris, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Arandt and daughter, Miss Mary Fitzel and Elmer Schmidt, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pacholke and son, Allan, Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fults, Abbotsford, and George Johnson, Stratford.

Mr. and Mrs. Fitzel will reside at 403 W. Depot street, Marshfield.
