Fehlman, Hettie May (7 Nov. 1878 - 6 June 1937)

Miss Hattie May Fehlman died Sunday morning, June 6th, at her home here in Colby at the age of fifty-eight years and seven months, cancer of three years duration being the cause of her departure. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon, June 10th, at the house at 1:30 P.M., and at the Colby M. E. church at 2:00 P.M.

The deceased was born in Arlington Heights, Ill., November 7th, 1878. Her father, Mathias Fehlman, was born in Alsass, France, and her mother, Catherine Hauert, was born in Pennsylvania. Miss Fehlman came to this locality in April, 1915, and was prominent in the church affairs of the Colby M. E. church, being superintendent of the Sunday school class for fifteen years. She was of a quiet and congenial disposition and well-liked by all who knew her.

She is survived by four brothers - Henry and George Fehlman of Colby, John of Frankfort, S. Dak., and Albert of Rockham, S. Dak.

Funeral services for Miss Hettie Fehlman were held last Thursday afternoon at the Fehlman residence at 1:30 P.M. and at 2:00 o’clock at the M. E. church, Rev. C. Paul Nulton officiating and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Henry Aderhold, Claude Whitney, John Pribnow, Jr., S. L. Loos, O. W. Sturner and R. H. Markus. Flower bearers were Marjorie Nelsen, Sara Nelsen, Frances Nulton, Georgine Roohr and Norma Engeldinger.

Out of town people who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. John Fehlman of Frankford, S. Dak., and Mrs. Winnefred Lucas and daughter, Mrs. Hackner, of Marshfield.
