Hasz, Edan (Marriage - 28 June 1942)

Miss Edna Helen Hasz, Granton, be came the bride of Paul J. Grass, Manistee, Mich., in a candlelight service which took place at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran church, Granton, at 7 p.m., June 28, 1942. The double-ring ceremony was read by the Rev. A. H. Laesch before a fern-decked altar.

Deforest Kerston, Wisconsin Rapids, a friend of the couple presided at the organ. Mrs. A. H. Laesch sang.

The bride was attired in white marquisette over satin, trimmed with lace and tiny buttons. The gown was fashioned with a long flowing train and long full sleeves.

Her finger-tip veil, edged with lace to match the dress was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls. Her jewels were a gold brooch which her grandmother wore at her wedding a gold, initialed bracelet, a gift from the groom. Her lace handkerchief was the one carried by her mother at her wedding. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, baby’s breath and sweetheart rosebuds.

Miss Lois Grass, the groom’s sister, Evanston, acted as maid of honor. Miss Lorraine Garbisch, Granton, was the bridesmaid.

Sgt. Theodore Hillert, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Armin Moh, Granton, attended the groom. The ushers were Otto and Albert Hasz, brothers of the bride.

A wedding dinner was served at the bride’s home after the ceremony.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hasz, Granton, is a graduate of the Granton High School, of the Wood County Normal School, Wisconsin Rapids. She taught in the Hillside school in the vicinity of Neillsville, Wis.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Grass, Evanston, Ill., was graduated from Concordia High School and the River Forest, Ill., state teachers college. He is employed as an instructor in the Trinity Lutheran School at Manistee, Mich.

After a wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells, Racine and Chicago, the couple will be at home after July 14, at 614 Pine Street, Manistee, Mich.

Theodore Hillert, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; Mrs. Arthur Schroeder and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Grass and daughter, Lois, Evanston, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Niekrans, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hasz and daughters, La Vonne and Shirley, and Mr. and Mrs. August Peper, Loganville, Wis.; Miss Norma Lasz and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stern, Milwaukee; Norman and Donald Stern, Madison; Erwin Arndt, Gerber, California; Second Lieut, Clifford Arndt, Victorville, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Margeson, son, Jack and daughters, Jerry and Jean; and Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne Cleveland, all of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sternitzky, Wausau; and Mr. and Mrs. August Arndt, Neillsville, Wis.

The waitresses at dinner were: Dorothy Moh, Marion Brooks, Margaret Beeckler, Mrs. Melbourne Cleveland, and Mrs. Lloyd Margeson.
