Degenhardt, Gertrude (June 22, 1908 - Sept 3, 2007)

LOYAL -- Gertrude Degenhardt, age 99, of Loyal, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Neillsville Memorial Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service, Thursday at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal and from 10 a.m. until service Friday at the church.

She was born June 22, 1908, in Loyal to Frank and Lida (Clouse) Vogel. She married Frank J. Degenhardt on April 30, 1924, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. They purchased a bar in Loyal, "Frank's Bar," now Spanky's, and operated it for 40 years until retiring in 1974. Frank preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1993.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Albert Degenhardt of Milwaukee, Don (Kathy) Degenhardt of Green Bay, Ken (Lois) Degenhardt of Milwaukee, Harvey (Bonnie) Degenhardt of Loyal, Darlene Klann of Dousman, Sue Kohlnhofer of Brookfield, Nancy Schmidt of Waukesha; 32 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren.
