Huls, Matilda (6 Dec. 1875 - 26 JAN 1938)

Mrs. John Huls, 62, passed away of heart failure while attending church services in her home city of Ladysmith on Wednesday morning, Jan. 26th, 1938.

The body was brought to the Bogumill Funeral Home here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) for embalming and lay in state in the chapel.

Matilda Liske was born in Kiel, Wis., on Dec. 6, 1875. She was united in marriage to John Huls on Nov. 7, 1899 at Thorp, and this was her home until the year 1919, when she moved to Ladysmith with her husband who became employed there as railroad flagman. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn, three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Oberle of Thorp, Mrs. George Vandehey of Stanley, and Miss Helen Liske of Ladysmith.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.M. Muckerheide at St. Bernard’s Church ere at ten o’clock Saturday morning and the remains were laid to rest in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ed and Fred A. Driessen, Arnold, John and Sylvester Huls, and Sylvester Vanderloop.
