Wieland, Lillian (30 Jan. 1897 - 24 June 1952)

Mrs. Walter Wieland, 55, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Wieland, the former Lillian DuChaine, was born January 30, 1897 in Westboro.

Among her survivors are her husband; a sister, Mrs. Estelle Gullick, Dubuque, Iowa; three brothers, Col. Harry and Gene E., Washington, D.C.; and Floyd, Tomahawk; and a half-brother, W. A. McCoy, Michigan.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Friday afternoon for Mrs. Walter Wieland, who passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital Tuesday at 2:30 A.M.

Mrs. Wieland had been in ill health for several months and submitted to a lung operation at the hospital Tuesday, June 17th.

Rev. Charles Witt was the officiating clergyman and burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ted Domer, Wm. Domer, John Olson, Harry Greves, George Miller Sr. and Herman Molle.

Flowers were cared for by Myrl Messer, Mildred Domer, Sida Olson, Esther Domer, Lela Molle, Jennie Miller, and Leona Greves.

Singers were Clara Johnson, Arlene Gustafson, Verna Dallman, and Helen Ayer, accompanied by Mrs. Charles Witt at the organ.

Mrs. Wieland, who was born January 30th at Westboro, Wisconsin, taught school in Clark County for a time. She was married to Walter Wieland August 29, 1915 and lived on a farm about 4 miles west of Unity for 35 years after which they built a new home and moved into the village four years ago.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Mission Society and the Ladies Aid, and served as Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher and organist for many years.

Among her survivors are her husband, a sister, Mrs. Estelle Gullick, Dubuque, Iowa; three brothers, Col. Harry and Gene E., Washington, D.C.; and Floyd, Tomahawk; and a half-brother, W. A. McCoy, Michigan.

Out of town people at the funeral besides her sister and four brothers were Mr. and Mrs. John Shore and family, Tomahawk; Mr. and Mrs. John Christianson, Dubuque, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. James Beals and family, Chicago; Mrs. Beda Henry, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. John Martin, Mr. Harold Lulloff, Dodgeville; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oelrich, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Korth, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Korth, Neillsville; L. Cramer, Mrs. Leonard Cramer, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. DuChaine, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson and family, Owen; and Mr. and Mrs. G. Wellman, Kenosha.
