Domer, Mr./Mrs. William (50th Anniv. - 17 Dec. 1935)

Mr. and Mrs. William Domer, Sr., of Unity quietly celebrated their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary on Dec. 17th at their home. Rev. Gamb delivered a festive address which was a fitting tribute to this pioneer couple who lived on their present farm home for the past fifty years. Rev. Gamb also extended his greeting in behalf of St. John’s congregation at Riplinger of which Mr. and Mrs. Domer are members. The ladies aid society of St. John’s church presented Mrs. Domer with a life membership of the Women’s Missionary Federation of the American Lutheran church. Mrs. Domer is the first to receive that honor from the ladies’ aid.

Mr. Domer is active in spite of his eighty years and Mrs. Domer, who was seriously ill a year ago, is again able to walk about her home with a cane. Six of their eight children were present for the occasion.

Refreshments were served at 4:30 o’clock. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Martens, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Justmann, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Domer, Jr., and children, Leo and Carl, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Neumann and son James and Donald, Colby, the Rev. and Mrs. Werner Gamb and daughter, Veefkind, and Mrs. John Noth. Mrs. George Orth, Abbotsford, and Theodore Domer, Unity, two of their eight children, were unable to be present for the occasion, but are spending Sunday with them.
