JOHN HUBING, 66, FORMER RESIDENT OF GRANTON, DIES

Lived in Village Before He Moved Onto Farm 44 Years Ago; Granton Locals

Granton - John Hubing, 66, one-time resident of Granton, succumbed Saturday noon at an attack of pneumonia at his home in Loyal Township which he had occupied for the last 44 years. He had been ill just one week. Funeral services were held Wednesday from St. Anthony’s Catholic church in Loyal.

Mr. Hubing was born in Washington County on March 8, 1875, and came to Granton with his parents as a young man. He settled on a farm three and one-half miles southeast of Loyal 44 years ago, and lived there until his death. He was married 43 years ago.

Surviving are his widow and six children: Mrs. Paul (Lorraine) Beaver, and Mrs. Rollie (Beatrice) Bauer, both of Loyal; Mrs. Kenneth (Venetta) Johnson, Chicago; Anton, Neillsville; and Raymond and Joseph, both at home. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. George Beaver of Granton, two brothers and a sister in Athens, and 19 grandchildren. Two other brothers who lived in Athens died in 1941.
