Wilkerson, Mildred (AUG 1939)

The marriage of Miss Mildred Wilkerson, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Y. Wilkerson of Springtown, to Harold Vick, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Vick, 724 North Grand, will take place at the Knob Methodist church in Springtown Sunday with the pastor of the church officiating.

Miss Wilkerson will have as maid of honor her sister, Miss Margaret Wilkerson. Mr. Vick will be attended by his brother, Raymond Vick of Sherman as best man. Miss Alta Vick of Sherman, sister of the bridegroom will play the wedding music.

The bride-elect is a graduate of the Springtown high school and Denton teachers college, where she was a member Delta Psi Kapppa sorority and the physical education club. She taught in the San Benito public schools last year.. Mr. Vick was graduated from Sherman high school in 1931 and Denton teachers college in 1937. In both high school and college he was a member of football, basketball and track teams. In college he was affiliated with the Talon fraternity. Last year he was a director of the physical education in the San Benito schools. The couple plan to leave immediately after their wedding for San Benito where both will continue their school work during the coming year.

Sherman relatives who will attend the wedding are Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Vick, Miss Geneva Vick, Gladys Vick and those included in the wedding party.

Harold will be remembered by many in Loyal. He now holds the position as assistant coach in football, basketball and baseball at Benito High school. He is also instructor of physical education at that school.
