LaVine, Olive (? - 28 Sept. 1887)

LaVine - In the town of Weston, Sept. 18, 1887, Mrs. Olive LaVine, wife of Mr. Frank LaVine, aged 68 years.

Her early home was in Franklin County, New York. She had lived in Clark County, Wisconsin about 22 years. Four children survive - Frank, Joseph, Fred and a daughter, Mrs. Matilda Lapp. Albert died several years ago, and William died in January, 1886.

Her life had been one of singular quietness, and of great devotion to her family. As a friend she was true, and as a neighbor she was kind. She was a great lover of flowers. With these beautified her home, and with these she made cheerful the sick chamber of those around her. Those who knew her the best loved her the most.

For years she had been in failing health. Her last illness was brief but severe. Faithful ones did their best to "soften her pillow" during her last days. But the end came suddenly, and a vacant place was found in the family circle which shall never again be filled on earth.

The funeral was attended from the residence on Saturday last. Gentle hands prepared the flowers; sweet voices sounded forth the notes that reminded us of the Redeemer’s worth. The Pastor of the Presbyterian Church spoke briefly of those things that might give comfort to all hearts, after which the body was laid away in Neillsville cemetery to rest until the Resurrection Morn.
