VenRooy, Magdeline (Marriage - 25 June 1935)

A pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Mary’s Catholic church Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock, Rev. L. J. Lang reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Magdeline VenRooy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter VenRooy, became the bride of Mr. Antone Schjonemann, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Schjonemann, town of Brighton. Miss Celia VenRooy, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Harley Christensen of Marshfield, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Lambert VenRooy, brother of the bride, and Harley Christensen were groomsmen.

The bride looked charming in a floor length gown of white satin and lace made in princess style with long sleeves. A cluster of orange blossoms were used to hold her long tulle veil in cap effect. Her shower bouquet consisted of pink and white rosebuds and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor wore a pink frock of rough silk crepe and the bridesmaid wore a dress of light green taffeta. Both wore large picture hats, accessories to match and shoulder bouquets of mixed flowers.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with garden flowers and pink, green and white streamers for the occasion. Covers were laid for twenty at dinner. A dancing party was held at Wiedenhoeft’s park in the evening which was largely attended.

Mr. and Mrs. Schjonemann will reside on a farm in the town of Brighton.
