Pacholke, Mr./Mrs. Charles (50th Anniv. - 13 May 1934)

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pacholke celebrated their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary at their home Sunday. Cards were enjoyed and supper served to approximately sixty guests. The rooms were nicely decorated in gold and white streamers and cut flowers of tulips and snapdragons. In the evening, dancing and further festivities were enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Pacholke. The couple received many fine and useful gifts including a number of gold coins.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Pacholke were born in Germany and were married May 13, 1884, in Caeslin, Germany. They came to the United States three years later, settling in Topeka, Kansas. Before coming to Wisconsin, they also lived for several years in Pennsylvania. They made Colby their home the past twenty years. They have one son, William C. Pacholke, in the plumbing and heating business in Colby and also supervisor and alderman of the first ward. Mr. Pacholke has one brother, Frederich, Colby, and two sisters in Germany, and Mrs. Pacholke has a sister living in Germany. They are members of St. John’s Evangelical church, Mrs. Pacholke being a member of the Ladies Aid Society. Mr. Pacholke is a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Steichert, Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pacholke and son, Allyn, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pacholke, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fultz, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. John Hederer and daughter, Iris, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pacholke, Howard Pacholke, Mr. and Mrs. John Pacholke and son, Herbert, Mr. and Mrs. William Young and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Witte, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Witte and daughters, Madylin and Ione, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pacholke and son, Lavern, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hanne and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Amundson and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Pacholke and Bernice and Billy Pacholke, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Young.
