Holt, Richard "Rick" Edward (December 12, 1941 - July 20, 2007)

Richard Holt, age 65, of Spencer, WI, beloved husband, father and grandfather died Friday, July 20, 2007 at his home.

Richard Edward Holt was born on December 12, 1941 at home in the Township of Weston, Greenwood, WI the son of Earl Edward and Bertha (Putzel) Holt. He attended country schools and schools in Loyal and Neillsville while growing up, and he assisted his mother while she taught at all of those schools. He married Dixie Dancker in 1962. They later divorced, and in 1986, he married Terrie Hildebrand-Fawley. Rick was employed in many different fields. He worked for American Motors in Kenosha, Kuhl Implement in Granton, Isabella Construction and retired from the Clark County Highway Department in 1989 after 20 years of dedication.

Throughout life Rick enjoyed spending time with family and friends firstly. He also enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, shooting trap, cooking, daily phone calls to family and friends, having a beer with the boys, intense debates and much, much more.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Terrie; Three children, Stacy Holt, of Neillsville; Heather Brown, of Neillsville; and Aaron (Becky) Fawley; two grandchildren, Kyle Brown and Hailey Fawley. He will also be greatly missed by his three loyal canines, Taffy, Jake and Teddy; a brother, James (Cheryl) Holt, of Black River Falls; and a sister, Elizabeth (Robert G.) Wilsman, of Neillsville; along with many relatives in the area and beyond.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services for Rick were held Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor James Mohr officiated. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Casket bearers were: Steve Brorson, Kyle Brown, Joe Hildebrand, Doug Polar, Patrick Polar and Tom Weyer.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Rick’s family with funeral arrangements.
