Schwarze, Dorothy B. #2 (7 MAY 1907 - 8 JUL 2007)

Dorothy B. Schwarze, 100, Phillips, died on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Dorothy B. Beecher was born on May 7, 1907, in Wauwatosa, to William and Minnie (nee Kocher) Beecher, She grew up on a farm north of Greenwood. She was co-valedictorian of the Greenwood High School, class of 1926. She married Emil Schwarze on Aug. 5, 1930, at the home of her grandparents in Greenwood. He preceded her in death in 1965. She was employed at various places including the Farmers Store, Greenwood, Klismet Furniture and Appliance, the Consumer Store, and for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper for Merkel Electric, Marshfield. She made her home in Phillips following her retirement in 1972. She was a deeply religious woman and an excellent seamstress who enjoyed sewing for three generations of her family, and also made custom draperies with her daughter. She was very artistic and incorporated this into her sewing, woodworking, drawing and needlecrafts.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Woldt, Phillips; four grandchildren, Beth (Pete) Hahn, Deb (Tom) Rait, Scott (Laurie) Woldt, and Barbara Woldt, all of Phillips; and four great-grandchildren, Laura Hahn and Jacob Hahn, Madison, and Nichole Woldt and Terry Woldt, Phillips.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Emil; her son-in-law, Frank Woldt; and her granddaughter, Pamela Woldt.

The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is assisting the family with arrangements.
