Schroeder, Rose (26 Feb. 1901 - 21 June 1933)

Mrs. Reinhold Schroeder, a former Colbyite, died at Spencer Wednesday, June 21st, at 9:30 p.m., acute deligite of the heart of two weeks duration being the cause of her departure. Funeral services were held at the St. John’s Lutheran church, one mile south of Romeo, Rev. Hintz officiating, and burial was made in the Colby cemetery.

The deceased was born in the town of Hull, Wisconsin, Feb. 26th, 1901, thus reaching the age of thirty-two years, three months and twenty-five days. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruna Sommers, both of whom were born in Germany. She is survived by her husband, one son, Arthur, her mother, and three brothers - George Sommers of Loyal, Henry Sommers of Colby and Carl Sommers of Colby.

Her life was gentle, but like the still waters it was deep. She had always a smile and pleasant word for her friends and family. Her death comes as a dark shadow to friends and her relatives.

*** Note: Mrs. Schroeder’s first name is from the Colby Memorial Cemetery index on this site.
