Lube, Carolina (25 Nov. 1855 - 13 Dec. 1932)

Mrs. August Lube died Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at her home in Colby, Wisconsin after an illness of about six months, cancer being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment will be made in the Green Grove cemetery.

The deceased was born in Trebenoa, Prussia, Germany, Nov. 25th, 1855, thus reaching the age of seventy-seven years and eighteen days. She came to this country in 1880 and settled in the town of Herman, Sheboygan county, where she was married on September 4, 1881, and, the following year, she and her husband purchased a farm in the town of Colby. Little of the land on this farm was cleared, but, by hard and diligent work, built a fine farm. They lived on this farm until eighteen years ago when they moved to the city of Colby.

She is survived by her husband and four children - Charles and Herman of British Columbia, Canada, August Lube of Marshfield, and Mrs. Aug. Gosse of Colby. Also twenty-four grand children.

The deceased, like all our early pioneers, was a good Christian, industrious, thrifty and never forgot the hospitable ways of the pioneer.
