Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, and again from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stecker was born May 4, 1926, in the town of Brighton in Marathon County, a daughter of Adolph and Ida (Mellenthin) Stelzl. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1943.

On March 9, 1946, in Wautoma, the former Arlene Stelzl was united in holy marriage to Sylvester Stecker. The couple lived in the Colby area after their marriage until moving to Arpin in 1950, where they raised their family.

Mrs. Stecker was employed with several area Nursing Homes as a CNA. Arlene enjoyed country living, working in her garden, painting, crocheting, crafts and the weekly get-togethers with her friends at the senior center. She especially enjoyed polkas, arm wrestling and food fights with her children. Arlene was a member of the "Golden Brushes" and had some of her works published. Many of Arlene’s art works and crafts were given to family and friends as gifts.

Mrs. Stecker is lovingly survived by her children, James Stecker of Marshfield, Kathy (Tom) Redmond of Pewaukee, Jeff Stecker of Arpin, Cheryl (Art) Hill of Green Bay, Judy Miller of Marietta, Ga., Cindy (Frank) Zickert of Arpin, Debbie (Gary) Andres of Marshfield, Diane (Tom) Orsi of Marengo, Ill., Tim Stecker of Arpin, Steve (Shelly) Stecker of Arpin and Sheila (Dan) Fjelstad of Cameron; one step daughter Bonnie Campbell of Chatfield, Minn., and fourteen grandchildren: Jesse, Samantha, Laura, Jenny, Jason, Jamie, Nicholas, Mike, Brad, Angie, Sarah, Seth, Adam and Abby.

Arlene is further survived by five great-grandchildren: Kailey, Kyle, Tyler, Savhanna and Brendan.

Preceding Mrs. Stecker in death were her parents, her husband in 1992, two daughters, Lori and Merydene; one grandson Rick Redmond; three sisters and one brother.

We’ll miss her practical jokes and the boys will miss her Granny Bars that she always made for family get-togethers. We’ll miss you Mother!
