Olson, Elva (Marriage - 30 Mar. 1932)

A very pretty wedding took place at the Catholic church at Abbotsford Wednesday morning, March 30th, at 9:00 A.M., Rev. McQuire reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Elva Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olson, became the bride of Mr. Norbert VenRooy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter VenRooy. The bride’s sister, Miss Edith Olson, acted as bridesmaid and Miss Celia VenRooy was maid of honor. The groom was attended by Ben Reil and Wm. VenRooy.

The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of pink georgette with veil and headdress and her bouquet consisted of carnations and sweet peas. Her veil was the same one her mother wore twenty-eight years ago. The bridesmaid’s dress was of yellow crepe and her bouquet consisted of carnations. The maid of honor’s dress was of green chiffon and her bouquet also consisted of carnations.

A wedding reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents for friends and relatives, the home being nicely decorated in pink, yellow and green for the occasion. In the evening a free wedding dance was given at the Cherokee hall which was largely attended.

The newlyweds will make their home at the VenRooy farm and we join their many friends in extending best wishes.
