Stoiber, Alvin (9 July 1918 - 12 June 2007)

DORCHESTER -- Alvin Stoiber, 88, of Dorchester, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, Wis. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester, Wis. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alvin was born July 9, 1918, in the town of Mayville, Clark County, to Frank and Anna (Gabriel) Stoiber. Alvin and Barbara Fischer were married Oct. 22, 1947. She preceded him in death. They farmed in the town of Mayville until 1974 when they moved to Dorchester, Wis. He then worked for Berg Equipment for a number of years. Alvin served as Taylor County Electric Director, town clerk for the town of Mayville, and Clark County Board.

Alvin is survived by his children, Marge (David) Miller of Deltona, Fla., and Richard (Diane) Stoiber of Glidden; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Charlene) Stoiber, Dorchester; and sister, Adeline Decker, Dorchester, Wis.
