Metcalf, Bertha (Marriage - 1 June 1931)

Miss Bertha Metcalf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalf of Greenwood, and Mr. Ben Dallman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dallman, were united in marriage Monday afternoon, June 1st, at the home of the bride’s parents, Rev. Elly Pfeiffer, pastor of the Reformed church, reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Roxey Coates of Thorp acted as bridesmaid and Miss Verna Luther of Spencer was maid of honor. The groom was attended by LeRoy Metcalf, brother of the bride, as best man and Wayne Davis, nephew of the groom, as usher.

The bride was attired in an ankle length white satin gown and veil held in place by a pearl and rhinestone trimmed coronet and her shower bouquet consisted of pink roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid wore a dress of pale green chiffon and her bouquet consisted of yellow and pink snapdragons. The maid of honor wore a flowered chiffon dress and her bouquet also consisted of yellow and pink snapdragons.

A reception was given the newlyweds at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with pink and white streamers and cut flowers for the occasion. The newlyweds will be at home after June 7th at New London, Wis., where the groom is employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Co.
