Pilarski, Walter (16 AUG 1902 - 24 JAN 1936)

Walter Pilarski, 33, was fatally injured Friday when a limb from a tree which he and Steve Pacholski were falling, broke off and struck him on the head fracturing the skull and causing almost instant death. The men were employed in a camp near Neopit, Shawano Co., the Menomonee Indian Mills. The body was brought here by the John G. Bogumill ambulance Saturday and lay instate at the Bogumill Funeral Home.

Walter Pilarski was born August 16, 1902. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Pilarski of the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). He was brought up in the schools of this vicinity and was an experienced woodsman. Deceased leaves to mourn his untimely demise, his mother, Mrs. Edna Pilarski, three brothers, Mike and Louis at home and Stanley of Milwaukee, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Skwierczynski of Chicago and Mrs. Cecelia Navaroo of Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church on Monday morning last, Rev. F.A. Kulig officiating, and interment following in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Geo. Herman, Chas. Kukla, Ed Zaborowski, John Czyzewicz, Frank Kowalski and Steven Krych.
