Dulek, August (10 JAN 1855 - 24 DEC 1935)

August Dulek, aged 80 years, 11 months and 4 days, died at the home of his son in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), at 12:00 o’clock noon, Dec. 24th, 1935, of old age infirmities.

Deceased was born in Germany on Jan. 10th, 1855. He was joined in holy wedlock with Miss Mary Schreiber in the year 1888, and in 1890 the couple came to America, settling for nineteen years in Joliet, Ill. Coming to Thorp in 1909, Mr. Dulek purchased a farm in the town of Worden and spent 16 years there. Upon retiring from the farm he resided in the village for 6 years until the death of Mrs. Dulek, when he returned to spend the past four years with his son, Leo, and family in the town of Worden.

Members of the immediate family surviving are: two sons, Leo and Joseph of Thorp, four daughters, Mrs. Mary Benzschawel, Thorp, Mrs. Josephine Sydajko, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Anna Schmidt, Thorp, and Mrs. Thresia Brehm, Joliet, Ill., 38 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Church in the village on Monday morning, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating. Interment was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: John Maier, Jr., Geo. Haas, Jos. Gengler, Anton Baldeschwiler, Gilbert Vanderhyden, R.J. Brunner.
