Charles Linder, aged 43 years, having died very suddenly and being buried somewhat mysteriously on Saturday, the 22nd day of Dec., 1883. He having been abused most shamefully by his brother, John, with whom he lived during his life, by kicks and blows from clubs, and, to make it all the more aggravating, the poor fellow was not of sound mind, and the neighbors having knowledge of the above abuse, and complaint being made, the body was taken up, and a jury empanelled to examine the same. There were a number of marks about the face and body, the nose was broken, but this was all accounted for by the witnesses as being received by falling down, which was accepted by the jury, they finding the deceased came to his death from natural cause, the body was ordered back to the grave by the court, but there seems to be quite a feeling, especially among the German portion of our people, that there has been foul play; if there has, and the jury here has filed to find it, there is a Judge that man cannot deceive.
